This workshop comprehensively introduces sandtray play therapy, covering its history, foundational principles, and practical applications. Participants will explore the differences between sandtray and sand play therapy, learn about the materials needed for effective sandtray work, and develop skills for working with children and adults. The training emphasizes hands-on learning, including role-play scenarios, group activities, and case study analysis to deepen understanding of therapeutic processes.
Special attention will be given to recognizing common themes in sandtray therapy, understanding developmental considerations for children and special populations, and exploring non-directive play therapy principles. ICST Certification is the highest level of training in sandtray therapy. ICST trainings include 4 levels taught over two 5 day trainings. Each training consists of a two days on, one day off, two days on format. This allows time for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Each training is unique and our training institute provides the utmost of care and consideration to your experience. Our March training off day involves a personal yoga class designed just for you. Swag including personally curated items designed to nurture you and your love of sandtray. This training is required for ICST certification. The levels and descriptions of what you will learn in each are listed below.
Beginner and intermediate trainings are also offered. These trainings are basic courses and do not result in certification. However, these are great courses to take to get exposure to sandtray therapy!
